The @PeoriaROE48 Spotlight Educator for this month is Felicia Appell, an English Language Arts teacher, from @elmwood322. Felicia was nominated to be the Spotlight Educator by a community member that explained how she utilizes many interactive group and cross-curricular projects in her classroom. "One project included her Sophomore students working with 2nd graders on story development and reading comprehension. Another project involved her high school students working with junior high school students as peer reviewers."
Additionally, Miss Appell will be completing Read Across America (Dr. Suess Day) the first week in March. She has expanded this project this year to include her Sophomore ELA students creating activities for grade school students and her Junior ELA students going into the grade school classrooms to lead STEAM activities.
