Short-term Substitute License Extended
Educators who currently hold short-term substitute teaching licenses with an expiration date of June 30, 2023, can renew the license for a five-year period by logging into their Educator Licensure Information System accounts and clicking on the "Renewals" link in their Action Center.
A short-term substitute can teach for up to five consecutive days per licensed teacher. Candidates only need an associate's degree or 60 semester hours of college coursework to qualify. Learn more on the ISBE website.
